Let it snow?

In the past, we've thrown away a lot of CDs that contain music that doesn't reflect our values and morals. Of course, we try to be as discerning when we're listening to songs on the radio. I continue to lament the fact that virtually no songs out there reflect married-people love. Someone in the song is always begging the other one to spend the night, or talking about how they just met, etc.

In order to enjoy the Christmas carol, Let it Snow!, I've decided that the couple is married, but separated and living apart. They're in the process of reconciling.

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping,
And I've bought some corn for popping,
The lights are turned way down low,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight,
All the way home I'll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,
And, my dear, we're still good-bying,
But as long as you love me so,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

I think that is a very sweet interpretation. And I love this song... i have a 'Christmas Belles' compliation cd with Ella Fitzgerald singing it. Doesn't get any better than that.

And if we're talking about married people love, what about movies?! Can you think of five movies that show two married people generally in love and show or hint at a love scene between them? (NOt that I am rooting for movies to include sex scenes, I just mean any sort of implication that the couple is happily married and enjoying intimacy). I always lament this.

WOW! That is all I can say, interesting observation of that song, but true, which is the "wow" part for me. Thanks for always makin' us think!
